She graduated in textile art from theNational Hungarian School of Applied Arts. She started her career as a costume painter at the Opera House. Between 1954 and 1958 she worked in the Creative Community of Textile Painters, later in design and implementation for the Arts and Crafts Company. Since 1968, she has been a freelance textile artist. Her tapestries and textile art deal with spiritual and sacred themes, using natural materials and individual weaving techniques. Her works decorate public buildings and churches, both in Hungary and abroad. She received the Munkácsy Award in 1988, the Kossuth Prize in 2003, the Presidential Medal of Honour of the Republic of Hungaryin 2004, the Pro Cultura Christiana Prize in 2015. She is Artist of the Nation.
