The basis for competition between one product and another is formed by quality. In some areas it is the activity of the designer and the artist that fine-tunes the object’s quality. In graphic design the work itself is also an attribute: instant communication often informed by another product or content, such as literature, poetry or another work of art. The final qualities of a given object are not only determined by the pure technical, constructed content but also by the access to this. Hence, graphic art describes and explains, presents and conveys other qualities through itself. Indeed, buyers feel a constant pressure when they have to make a choice between identical or similar contents, and the final quality will reach them through visual communication; the specific intentions, principles and methods are thus made accessible. Therefore, this category most typically defines the works of graphic art, a diverse area that is present virtually everywhere, although it can be generally applied to the activity of design on the whole.
