Kossuth Prize-winning, Prima- and Munkácsy Award-winning interior designer, Meritorious Artist, Professor Emeritus, cultural politician
He was President of the Association of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists from 1986 to 1989, Head of the National Cultural Fund from 1993 to 1994, President (from 2011 to 2017) , then Honorary President of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. His artistic career has spanned all areas of interior design, from cultural, religious and commercial facilities to museum and exhibition design. He is the author of eighteen books: essays, poetry, university textbooks and collections of articles. He is the founding editor-in-chief of the journal Magyar Iparművészet [‘Hungarian Applied Arts’]. A collection of about 100 woodcollage compositions represents a signifcant part of his artistic work.
