Mária Garzuly GESZLER

She graduated from the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts in 1965. Between 1966 and 1980 she was a designer at the Magyarszombatfa Ceramics Factory. Since 1976, the year of its foundation, she has been a member of the artistic council of the International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemét, and has been the organizer and curator of several international symposia. Since 1982 she has been a member of the Geneva-based IAC (International Academy of Ceramics), since 1991 a member of the Hot Off The Press (England) group, and since 1992 an exhibiting artist of the Terra Ceramic Sculpture Association. Since 2002 she has been a regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. In 2018 she received the Kossuth Award, in 2019 she won the Grand Prize of the Vallauris International Biennale, and in 2020 and 2021 she received special praise at the International Ceramics Biennale.
