Katalin NYÍRI

textile designer

She studied at the Textile Department of the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts, majoring in woven fabrics and garment design, and graduated with a master’s degree in Industrial Design in 1990. She makes hand-woven garments and accessories. Her awards include: Lajos Kozma Scholarship (1991–1994); Pelso MKISZ Award (2005); City of Szombathely Award at the 3rd Triennial of Textile Art (2012, as a member of the YSSI Group); MKISZ Award at the 7th International Triennial of Textile Art (2021). Her works can be found in the collections of the Miskolc Gallery, the Museum of Applied Arts (Budapest) and the Szombathely Gallery.
