MCXVI Architects was founded by two students of the XVIth Master’s College of Architecture in 2001. In the years since then they sought to preserve the spirit of the Master’s College in their projects. They approach architecture in its complexity from urban design through buildings and interiors to autonomous objects of applied and fne arts. The Zsolnay Cultural District they designed won the Media Architecture Award in 2012 as well as the ICOMOS and FIABCI awards in 2013, while it was selected as one of the 30 best Hungarian buildings of the decade in 2019.
