Pál SOMOGYI

He graduated in interior design from the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts in 1970. After his studies he was a design engineer at the Public Building Design Instituteand between 1972 and 1985 he worked as anarchitect at LAKÓTERV. He always adapts his interior designs to the architectural environment, while using great creative freedom in exploiting the potentials inherent in the structure, materials and style of the given space. He won the Noémi Ferenczy Award in 1994. In 2005 he and his wife, textile artist Csilla Kelecsényi, co-founded the Keso Art Studio, which has been operating under the name of Keso Design Studio since 2010. He has won the Interior Designer of the Year award on two occasions. He was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist of Hungary in 2016. He has been a regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts since 2007.
