Action - Postindustrial Design

András Szilágyi B.

This attribute comes to the fore in objects that are enlivened by activity or action, where interactivity and user experience dominate. This brings us to the world of equipment. I want to travel so I get into a car. I want to wash my clothes so I’ll buy a washing machine. I want to make coffee and I want to do it as efficiently as possible. This was typical of the previous stages of the industrial revolution, when a multitude of new meanings and objects was created for men and women of action, and designers primarily designed the interfaces that connected the users with the technical content created by the design engineer. Activity defines the fundamental direction of innovation, thus the 21st century is no longer a time of machines but rather a time of applications. At the same time, our activities in the virtual space are increasingly commonplace and we use apps to complete the majority of our tasks. These are all designed ‘areas of action’. Therefore, this category is the main attribute in the post-industrial design section.
